Life story
June 27, 1979

John was born in Vernon BC on June 27, 1979.  He was the youngest of 5 with 4 older sisters, who like to dress him up in their doll clothes.  As he got older it changed to our old clothes until he was too big for us to make him.  John being the only boy and the youngest child was, in the girls eyes, spoilt rotten.  But we loved him any way.

John was very active, through the years he figure skated, played hockey, baseball, skiied and snowboarded.  When he hit puberty, he hit it off by having a nephew that he used to take to the mall to "pick up chicks".  Then as his nephews got older he took great pride in teaching them all kinds of saying that made their respective mothers want to beat him to a pulp.  Like "moms out back smokin' crack" that was lovely.  But we got revenge when his son Nicholas was born.  Oh did we ever.

There will always be that song on the radio, smell, or memory that bring us back to the little blonde boy riding his trike threw the HUGE puddle across from the house in Vermilion.  One that if he happened to fall off his trike or lost momentum was deep enough to drown him at most points.  Or when we come across a scar and remember the summer that John rode his bike into the tailgate of Dads truck and had to get stiches, promptly followed by him trying to give himself a lobotomy with one of Dads screwdrivers, which also sent him to the hospital for stiches.  Anyone seeing a pattern here.

So sit back and listen to one of those songs, with a photo album of John (you know the one with all the pictures in it that we swiped from Moms albums when we "think" she wasn't paying attention.  Have a nice glass of wine, beer or tequila and let the memories flow.  We loved him and he loved us all.

John will forever be remembered as a son, little brother, nephew, grandson, dad, firefighter and above all a great friend.  He will never be forgotten, as he left little pieces with us all.
